Opportunity to join our global Communications Solutions Sales Team!
As an industry leader in delivering key critical path solutions to the Communications industry across the globe, we are looking to add a seasoned, hardworking Sales Engineer (SE) with proven experience in the Telecommunications industry and a passion for selling technology solutions to senior executives.
As a member of the Sales Organization, the SE will support the sales efforts into new prospects and existing customers. The SE will work closely with the Product organization and in support of the Sales team in selling the Carrier Provisioning suite of Communications Solutions, with a focus on the solutions for buying and selling of Network Connectivity between Service Providers, Number Portability, and TN Management. Measures of success include new pipeline created, customer close rates, up-selling, cross-selling, customer satisfaction and contribution to overall sales team and business success.
Sales Engineers must have great written and oral communication skills. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to comprehend business requirements and influence customer decisions based on achievement of technical objectives. The ability to determine the best strategy in selling to a customer based on the customer’s business vs. technical nature is a must.
Travel may be necessary and is estimated at between 30% with the remainder of business
conducted remotely via web conferencing.
Responsibilities
- Partner with sales executives to plan, prepare and execute on strategic deals in complex sales cycles
- Provide pre-sales technical support and subject matter expertise by understanding customer business and technical requirements and identifying services and solutions that help meet customers' needs.
- Assist the sales and business teams in developing quality RFP/RFI responses as well as sales proposals.
- Create and deliver powerful presentations and demos that clearly communicate the uniqueness of the value proposition
- Identify current and future customer service requirements by establishing personal rapport with prospective and current customers and to understand service requirements.
- Proactively maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional societies.
- Contributes to sales engineering effectiveness by identifying short-term and long-range issues that must be addressed, recommending options and courses of action, and implementing directives.
- Be familiar with Neustar other product lines and escalate sales opportunities requiring multiple product lines to Senior Sales Engineers and/or Sales Management.
Qualifications / Skills:
- Highly motivated self-starter with strong initiative - ability to work well both independently and in as a team member.
- 10+ years of experience in telecommunications or related space
- Telecom network operations and/or engineering experience a plus with understanding of public TDM, IP, fiber/coax and SIP design principles, including cable and telco industry architecture.
- Ability to creatively explain and present complex concepts in an easy-to-understand manner
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent presentation and creativity skills
- BA/BS in Engineering or another industry-related field
